CHACHAPOYAS/KUELAP/COCACHIMBA At 06h30 departure to Kuelap (9000ft). Visit to the Kuelap Fortress. Downhill hike to Utcubamba valley. Lunch on the way back. Pick up and transfer at 17h00 to Cocachimba village. Lodge. Kuelap fortress is the most important citadel of Chachapoya Kingdom; its function was acting as a Fortress by 1000 years until the defeat under the Incas army. Forgotten and covered by vegetation was discovered before Machu Picchu but remained unstudied until the last years. This huge stone building is maybe the second most important in Peruvian pre Hispanic history.

COCACHIMBA/GOCTA/COCACHIMBA At 07h00 we begin the hike to the base of second fall of Gocta Waterfalls (third heighest in its category in the World with 771 meters height) Walking in the cloudforest we will enjoy the nature and maybe a cold bath in their waters. Back to Lodge and Lunch. Free afternoon for resting.
